  1. This is my favorite look to go. I used to wear red lipstick a lot and… I ran out of reds suddenly. :))) Need to have reds back into my make-up kit. Your red lipsticks suggestions are great. I think I will try to get a Guerlain one as I am a huge fan of their lipsticks and haven’t tried the one you list before.
Thank you for another beautiful look, Karima! You look stunning.

  2. Hey Karima, between Koh Gen Do Aqua foundation and Giorgio Armani Lasting Silk, which one you think it’s best for oily skin? These ones are the most skin like texture, as you said, and I really need something like that for the morning

    1. Hey Gabriela!
I think I might have answered your question on instagram but no harm in answering again. The Giorgio Armani Lasting Silk strikes me as a better option for oily skin, I think it has better longevity. That being said, a formula that is skin-like on me might not be for you, there is some trial and error here.
I touched on this subject in my Skin-like foundation 101 post, which you can read here:
      https://shamelessfripperies.com/tutorial/skin-like-foundation-101-video-text/
      xx

  3. I love this video! I have so many red lipsticks but never wear them because I feel like I look like I’m trying too hard, but this tutorial solves my dilemma πŸ™‚ & I love your wavy hair!

  4. Your skin looks so amazingly flawless here o.O I wish I could find the courage for red lipstick when I’m just running around at uni during the day, but I always feel ridiculous if I’m wearing lipstick and it’s not at work.

    1. Thanks, Mary!
You might want to try option 1 in the tutorial – dabbing a red lipstick over a balm. You might *feel* ridiculous but you don’t look ridiculous, it’s just our perception y’know?
      xx

  5. Thank you SOOO much for this post! Been waiting for this! I currently bought the Smashbox Infrared lipstick (a matte), very pleased with it. However, I would like to buy one which feels more like a lipbalm, because I have dry and often chapped lips. That’s why I use it with the Reve de Miel lip balm (great product by the way, thanks again, Karima)! But, I want to be able to use the lipstick on its own without having to deal with balms and stuff, which one of those you mentioned do you recommend for a pale cool toned skin? One that feels like butter on the lips :)?

  6. Hi Karima, I’m interested in buying excellent makeup brushes. I don’t mind spending extra $$ to get great quality. I’ve read and seen the blogs/videos on the subject at hand. My biggest concern is that I don’t like brushes that are scratchy (then again, all of my brushes to date are of poor quality), especially on my lids.

I’m most interested in getting your feedback of luxury brushes. Which of these brands offers the creme de la creme.

Thanks (all the way from Boston, USA)

P.S. If you feel there are better brands out there, please let me know. I’m very much open to suggestions.

    1. Hey Rita,
This really depends on how much you are willing to spend πŸ˜› If we are talking creme de la creme, SUQQU brushes are perhaps the best quality (and softest!) although the range is limited.
Chikuhodo, Hakuhodo and Wayne Goss offer lots of shapes/sizes and all three are fabulous quality.
      xx

      1. Not that it is needed, but I will second Karima wholeheartedly on her assessment! You only have one face, it deserves the best quality your money can buy. That being said, I’m curious about any affordable brushes in your opinions that have a place on your face

      2. Hey Lindsay,

I have some favourite affordable brushes in the synthetic variety – Real Techniques & EcoTools make some great synthetics at a great price point.

        xx

  7. Hi Karima, this is such a great look! IMO, if you’re going to wear a red lip, this is how you should do it…a matte red lip with flawless skin and understated but defined eyes…it’s sophisticated, not loud. I seriously love your videos…your attention to detail and your adorable personality keep me coming back (though this is the first I’ve commented). πŸ™‚

Would you by any chance be able to recommend a dupe for the Rouge Bunny Rouge cream eyeshadow? Can’t find it here in London and I’m reluctant to splurge online on something I haven’t tested on myself. I find cream eyeshadows look best on me because I have dry skin and powders tend to go cakey and flat (and I’m not a fan of eye primers).

    1. Hey Rita πŸ™‚

So pleased you liked the look! In terms of a dupe… I suppose the MAC Paints (in the tube) are a similar texture, although I find the Rouge Bunny Rouge easier to blend. They’re quite a unique formula πŸ™‚

      xx

  8. Nothing chic-er than the cas red lip! I have combo skin in summer, and my current faves are Chanel Le Blanc with Les Beiges fluide layered with Velvet Lumiere. Dust some Chanel Les Beiges powder on top, and Hourglass lighter colored bronzer in a bronzed-but not really contoured way, and I’m ready for a lip. I like Guerlin 121, Givenchy Carmin Escarpin, and Beaute Masochist (this is a liquid-gloss formula, very sleek formula, not sticky, moderate wear time with a pencil. It is, though, the most classic old school red you’ll ever find. Sam from Pixiwoo used it in her Greta Garbo video. I just HAD to have it…ANDIMNOTSORRY). If I have more time I’ll throw on some Becca eye gunk in Romanticism and some mascara. LOVE that MAC finally brought out Haute & Naughty in WP formula!
