  1. Hi!!! How does this mac eye shadow primer work for you? Is it really your best e/s primer?? I have never tried it, I’m running out of my NARS primer and I’m thinking of trying Mac one.

    1. I love it – I used to use NARS and switched to MAC because it’s more grippy, and you get more product and better delivery of the product with the MAC squeeze tube than the NARS tube/doe foot (wasn’t crazy about their packaging anyway). If you want to tone down the grippiness/tackiness of the MAC, just dust over it with finely milled translucent powder or with a matte bone/eggshell shade. 🙂

  2. Hi Karima –

Makeup struggle#1: The ‘geometry’ of shadow placement for a hooded eye! I’ve been sort of making a hazy line from end of my eye to the start of my eyebrow and just leaving a little room for brow highlight and that seems to bold, so I’m also trying a diagonal line from outer corner to start of brow to leave more highlight room under the brow. I’m not sure if it’s placement or the color I’m choosing to place there (too dark, maybe?) but I feel like it’s still too much. Do you use a lighter or medium shade for upper socket work and then deepen and darken in the crease? Thankfully there are loads of tutorials for this now, but I still feel like I don’t exactly know where to start my transition shade, and where in my socket (or above?) to start working in the color.

Makeup struggle #2: I like dimensional looks on my eyes, so I always have a lid color, crease color, transition color, highlight color and outer v color. If I rely on tutorials, the colors always seem one off for my skin or hair or eye color. I have to use my face charts from my makeovers, but I have a lot of makeup so I want to be able to create looks on my own. Any guidance on how to pick out colors for your eye look? I realize this is a loaded question – any tips or tricks, no matter how general, are appreciated!

    1. Hey Angie,

The transition shade should go above the socket and should be a shade or two deeper than your skintone (in whatever colour family you’re working with).
Picking colours that suit your skintone/colouring is a very loaded question, what colours do you enjoy on your eyes right now?

      xx

  3. Hi Karina from the UK ?
I’m loving your comprehensive tutorials , bringing me a whole new interest in wearing makeup to flatter my skin not just cover it .
I loved you eyeliner non smudge video.
What I , and am sure many other ladies with eye wrinkles n crows feet would love to know is how to wear a winged eyeliner to lift the eyes and face but without emphasising the wrinkles.
    Many thanks
    Keep up the fabulous tutorials
