  1. Your take on this tag made me squeal with delight! Thank you for everything you do.
I’m hearing a lot of little birdies tweet about how wonderful Tarte’s Shape Tape concealer is. Have you tried it?

  2. Hey Karima, love this look on you…stunningly beautiful. You’ve mentioned a lot of my faves. Just wondering have you tried the Kevyn aucoin primer for dry skin. Very pricey but so worth it, it has some fantastic skincare properties in it too. If you haven’t tried it already I can highly recommend the illamasqua gel eyeliner. Great post thank you.

  3. Face Primer – I like the MUFE ones (esp. Mattifying and Smoothing), but I also enjoyed using Hourglass Veil.

Foundation – Don’t have a Ride-Or-Die fave (not even MUFE Ultra HD, which I’ve used for a while now and do like), but I recently tried ABH’s Stick Foundation. First impressions were very positive.

Undereye Concealer – I’ve been using the discontinued MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer for years (yay backups), but I confess to having a love-hate relationship with it. Before that I used the Bobbi Brown Corrector and Creamy Concealer, and I may go back to it. (I have a few other contenders – MUFE Ultra HD, KVD’s, and NARS Radiant Creamy.)

Spot Concealer – Yep. KA Sensual Skin Enhancer. (I use SX01.)

Setting Powder – Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder for under the eyes, and I’ve been enjoying Cinema Secrets Ultralucent Setting Powder in Colorless for the rest of my face. (I don’t remember the base of the latter, but it sets everything matte without flattening the face, which is important to me. :))

Brows – For now, ABH Brow Powder Duo in Ash Brown, even though I’ve been reaching for Hourglass’ brow pencil a lot lately. Don’t really have a ride-or-die brow gel.

Eyeshadow Primer – I want to try the MAC one, but I really like NARS Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base. (Yay!)

Eyeshadows – I don’t have a ride-or-die eyeshadow palette, but I do have some ride-or-die single eyeshadows. From MAC: Satin Taupe, Copperplate (sadly discontinued!), Typographic (also sadly discontinued), Omega. From Makeup Geek: Corrupt, Unexpected, Barcelona Beach, Moondust (wore it recently and ZOMG REDISCOVERY).

Eyeliner – I actually like the Sephora 12 hr pencils! They’re creamy, don’t tug, and have pretty good staying power for me. (I own Black Lace (guess the colour of that one ;)) and 5th Avenue (a warm dark grey).)

Mascara – This would probably be another one I’ve recently tried — Smashbox Indecent Exposure. It gives me a lot of volume at the roots and almost has a falsh lash effect. And it seems to me it can be built up a lot without it turning into spider lashes (which I hate).

False Lashes – They’re not something I wear a lot, but the Kiss Trio Lashes. Still wish they’d release a pack of only X-Short.

Contour – MAC Blush in Next to Skin. (It was LE a couple of years ago.) Or MAC Copperplate eyeshadow (ugh, why did they discontinue the Matte2 formula?!?!? *poutyface*).

    Bronzer – Probably Benefit Hoola.

    Blush – NARS Sex Appeal

    Highlight – don’t have one

    Lipliner – don’t have one

Lipstick – MAC Feed the Senses (LE a few years ago and was in one of the Holiday palettes last year. Hope they’ll bring it back in tube/bullet form again). I’ve been reaching a bit for MAC Blankety a lot lately as well.

Brushes and Tools – MAC 239; Hakuhodo J5523, J5529, J5533, J142, J146; Louise Young LY13; some sort of angle liner/brow brush; Chikuhodo T4 and R-P4; beautyblender; RT Deluxe Crease Brush (or similar); Sephora Pro #35 (I use it for spot concealing); Sigma F80; RT Expert Face. (Don’t have a ride-or-die contour brush yet. Or one for more precise setting powder placement.)

  4. Hey Karima,
great post and video, as always! I share quite a few faves with you!
Wanted to ask if Kevyn Aucoin sensual skin enhancer in SX07 would blend well with Koh Gen Doh aqua foundation in 123? And if you had to choose, would you still say the Guerlain terracotta four seasons in moyen brunettes or the regular one you mentioned in your sephora video? Is one more ornage-y or glittery than another? Ben looking for a buttery easy to blend bronzer for a while – also which brush would you recmmend for bronzer appalication? Any particular faves? Thanks Karima!
